Scheduling Snafu Sparks Competition

🔄10,000 Hours vs 10,000 Iterations

Malcolm Gladwell popularized the idea that it takes 10,000 hours to master something.
Good theory — wrong frame.
Naval Ravikant put it better:

“Mastery isn’t about how long you work on something.
It’s about how many times you try, adjust, and try again.”

It’s not about time spent.
It’s about iterations — try → fail → adjust → try again.
That’s error correction.
The real definition of learning.
And the best way to learn is through failure.

Unlucky for us — fear of failure is primal.
Outdated software from a world that doesn’t exist anymore.

Our hunter-gatherer brains evolved pessimistic risk avoidance because life demanded it.
You hear a rustle in the woods:

🍎 It could be food.

🐅 It could be a predator.

Guess wrong? You die.
Pessimism was survival.

But today, the stakes aren’t that high.
Failure is survivable.
You can override that outdated fear.

If you don’t, you’ll move slow.
You’ll hesitate.
You’ll protect yourself from “looking dumb” instead of putting yourself in position to learn faster.

The frame flip is simple:
From fear avoidance → to failure acceptance.

Treat whatever you’re pursuing — a startup, a job, a relationship — like a search function.
You're running experiments to find the thing that works.

The road will be littered with failed startup ideas, bombed interviews, and bad dates.
That’s the point.

Mastery doesn’t come from avoiding failure.
It comes from surviving it — and using it.

Each failure sharpens the blade.
Each iteration makes you better.
Failures = wins — when you treat them like fuel.
Collect enough — and you’ll find what you're looking for.

🎮 Game Night vs 💻 Vibe Coding Night

KYX is disrupting the event space.
Two events. One night.
We’re taking our audience — and dividing it.
It’s brilliant.

Competing events, same night.
Even wilder? Same place.
Totally intentional. Definitely not a scheduling accident.
(Or maybe it was. Doesn’t matter — we’re leaning into it.)

When we found out about the conflict, we didn’t flinch.
Why reschedule when we could compete?
Sides were chosen. Lines were drawn.
Now it’s a full-blown RSVP war.

⚔️ Time to choose your fighter:

♠️ Game Night

Pick the side where you can out-think, out-bluff, and outlast.
Poker’s the main event — but if cards aren’t your thing, there’ll be board games too.

Come for the games.
Stay for the strategy.
Leave with the bragging rights. 🏆

And if you’re building something?
Poker’s the perfect training ground — a safe place to get comfortable with risk, uncertainty, and big decisions. Just like a startup.

If you’re looking for a little competition — you know where to find it.

💻 Vibe Coding Night

Crave friendship but feel like you can’t make it out because you need to be productive?
This side’s for you.

While some are stacking chips, VCN is stacking wins.
Bring your startup, your side project, or your next big idea — and actually get something done while you meet sharp people along the way.

Prompting experts will be on hand if you want to level up with AI tools like Sedrino, ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity.
Or just bring your own project and vibe alongside other founders and builders who get it.

👉 RSVP here: https://lu.ma/hiuvlv8r

🍕🥤 Food and beverages will be provided at both.
(And yeah — we’ll probably make a competition out of that too.)

Pick your side.
Or be chaotic and crash both.
Either way — Thursday’s going to be fun.
