Hello Fellow Pioneers!

Vision Louisville: Our City, Our Tomorrow

Part 2: Bringing Talent to Louisville

Goals:

  • We will do 2 hack-a-thons a year (spring / fall)

  • We will get 50 CS students (a bus load) from a top tier engineering school to come to Louisville in 2026.

  • (Optional) - We will get a big tech sponsor.

5 of the top 10 Engineering schools are within driving distance of Louisville. Let’s get this talent here!

The one of the competitive advantage we have in Louisville is being centrally located. Let’s use geography to our advantage to be a locus for in-person meeting.

HackKentucky is 🚂 121 161 registered, +40 last week!

We’d like to have more local area high school kids attend. They can participate in the Hack-a-thon and/or just listen to speakers. We have an amazing speaker line-up on Sat, Feb 22nd from 11am - 4pm. Plus all the food you can imagine!

IF YOU CAN REFER US TO HIGH SCHOOL IT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED (MANUEL, ST. X, etc..)

Note: high school students cannot stay overnight. They must leave at 11pm and may return at 7am each day.

We’re less than a week from our first annual 💻️ HackKentucky! We’re pacing at 100-150 150-200 200-250 people…much more than original 100 planned. 📣 All organic advertising. Thank you for helping spread the word!

We have an awesome set of mini events during the day; from 5:05pm 5 minute 🌶️ spicy ramen challenge to the 🪩 10:10pm 10 minute dance party. Plus speakers from every 😁 FAANG+. Lastly on Sunday we’ll be doing 🏆️ judging and 🍳 resume roasts!
